	Hair Extension — What Is It? Hair extension is adding hair (human or synthetic) onto your own hair by means of Weaving, Braiding, Strand By Strand, or Bonding. It is normally applied by a skilled beautician in a salon, but many individuals have been applying it in the convenience of their own home. Hair extensions can make you look and feel younger and beautiful. With instant long and lucious hair that you wear on a regular basis, you can sleep with it, wash and care for it like your own hair. You can also cut and style to fit your look.
Hair Extensions — How Do You Wear Them? There are four methods in which you wear hair extensions. These are the general terms the industry uses to represent the process. There are many variations of these methods based on the individual who is performing the job ranging from braid weave, tree braids, individuals, latch hooks, pole method and much more. Please consult with your stylist before choosing a method. 1) Weaving A process in which you create tracks on the individuals head and sew the hair extensions on. This method is the most widely used method in adding hair extensions. 2) Braiding A process in which you add hair extensions by braiding them in. There are many types of braiding techniques which varies from one skilled beautician to another. Tree Braid, Braid Weave or Individuals, Cornrow, and French Braid are just to name a few. 3) Strand By Strand A process in which the extension hair is attached directly to your own hair by heated glue sticks. In this method, an acrylic glue stick is placed inside a glue gun which heats and melts the glue. Then, the hair extension and the glue are attached directly onto the individual's hair. 4) Bonding The simplest method. A bonding glue is brushed or applied onto the weft of the extension hair and then it is applied at the root of the individual's hair. It can easily be removed by a remover the glue comes with. This is a temporary method.
Hair Extensions — How Much Hair Do You Need? Normally for a full head of weave, you'll need 1/2 pound of hair. This is two bundles of hair either on a weft for weaving or loose, bulk hair for braiding. However, some may require more than two bundles and some may require less. For just the back or the top, one bundle of hair would be sufficient. Our human hair extensions are sold by a 1/4lb which is a bag of hair or a bundle of hair. Each of these bundles weigh 1/4lb and depending on the length, quality, texture, and color prices will vary. Our prices range from $20.00 to $249.00 per 1/4lb of human hair for weaving or for braiding. Generally speaking, for a good quality hair, you can spend about $90.00 ~ $100 for two bundles of 10" ~ 12" hair for weaving and 14" ~ 16" for braiding.
